The lyrics are almost here Jun. 14th, 2007 @ 11:15 am
Well I have been working diligently with Kyle for the past week and we have managed to get 4 out of hte 5 songs written... now I have started recording them. I recorded myself singing them for a demo tape so the singers know what the hell they are doing. sometimes it's nice to have a reminder of why we don't do something. I asked Daya if I got singing lessons if it would do me any good ... I think me as a singer is and always will be a hopeless case.

I have started packing and for the most part have the important things all set to go. I will be packing my carry on and my computer and junk on tuesday night. Wednesday is the big day. That being said Wednesday I will be retiring my deadjournal and moving to a livejournal... I want to make something a little more public to share with family and friends. I would also like to use some of my free time to maybe do a video blog instead of just a word blog... but we'll see.

This weekend I have finished the lyrics for 3 songs. So I've got 1 (maybe 2 ...) to work on right now. It's almost finished.

This week I shall be packing... how weird of a feeling is that packing your suitcase for who knows how long.

Last Crack at the Lyrics May. 26th, 2007 @ 01:08 pm
Honestly this week Keble gave me some good advice ... it's time to take one last crack at the lyrics for my songs.

grrr ... fukin kyle

» Preparing for the move
well the slave cylinder in my cars clutch broke again this week... So the first thing I did when I got home was put my car up for sale. I guess I have started taking care of odds and ends to get ready for my move. I will call Travelcuts tomorrow to see if i can get a sweet deal on a fare to Toronto.

This weekend I got to spend some good time with Daya, and work on some music with Keble, and go out for lunch with Dale. I guess the next month is just getting ready for the move. :)

Anyways on another note... Daya suggested I rant about this in my journal.

This weekend we lost another pilot in a snowbirds crash. This angers me for several reasons. I am not a fan of military spending in the first place but the way I see it, I think it's time to either increase funding to the snowbirds, or cancel the program. If we have skilled pilots flying loop the loops. We should have these pilots flying missions... especially if we can't guarantee their safety in the equipment we have provided them... now giving this some further thought, frankly if we have the cash to send Canadians to die in Afghanistan we have the cash to upgrade a dozen planes. Honestly, while I don't really support a lot of Military spending, the fact that the snowbirds represent Canada is an important thing. So that's my 2 cents
» Bravo Bravo!
Last night I finally got to enjoy my birthday present from Daya. Some of you may remember that she got my symphony tickets for the Mahler Symphony #2. Honest to God there are few pieces of music that are as emotionally charged as this work. You could see Victor Sawa's face by the end of the concert of someone who had put his whole emotion into the performance. We will probably never see something quite like that in Regina again. To pull off the performance there were many many many guest artists including the huge choir. Anyways ... if you missed if well... I'm sure you probably won't regret it ... BUT YOU SHOULD!

I finished my first week in the Credit department at work. My training is going "swimingly" in other words it seems like no one has any idea what the ef is going on. But I will tell you what, I leave work earlier, I am in a better mood. The atmosphere is more relaxed, it is slower paced and people are supporting me so hard in what I am working on. I still don't know my departure date for the new job... but hopefully I will find out this week. I have been taking credit applications, It is a big change from what I did before but something that I am enjoying.

Today wrapped up the premiership season... I am not too happy with Fox World Sports though... 4 different channels all of them showing the Manchester United game today... Honestly, what's the point ??? Man Utd has clinched 1st place this season when there was still a battle for third place. Anyways the gunners finish 4th place. Good enough for europe next year.

This weekend I got to spend some quality time with Daya. Her new job is tiring the crap out of her... actually i bet she's even more tired then that. We watched a couple of movies and of course, went to the symphony. 2 movie recommendations
1. Music and Lyrics - cute date movie ... definetly worth a watch
2. The History Boys - the only person who checks this blog that might understand what the fuck is going on in this movie is Mads.

Music and Lyrics was a little funny to me because of my own situation... I have brought in a lyricist to help me with my problem. Kyle who you may remember as my Seattle travel partner is now working on the lyrics as we speak and we will come togehter and see what we can do later on this week.

Last point of interest... wednesday I will be in saskatoon for a "business trip" taking a course at a bank in saskatoon to help me get ready for the new job :)
» A day in the life of
First off, I still have horrible writer's block. I am hoping to have something substantial by the end of the week. I have an unlikely ally, I think I'll be working with Kyle.

Since I last updated i have had a few significant changed in my work situations. First off I am now working more hours at the radio station. It's nice to be here one some weekdays (where I am right now). I forgot how much Gormley can piss me off... LOL. (He doesn't think that being in afghanistan raises Canada's profile as a potential terrorist target... ) I also enjoyed (HA) my last day as an outbound personal banker, honestly I don't know what my new job title is but I have started dealing specifically with mortgages.

Daya has been out of town for almost two weeks, we have the symphony concert to look forward to on Saturday. I do miss her alot, we haven't had much time to speak over the past week. It's been a busy couple of weeks on all fronts sometimes i just feel as though I don't know whats going on.

Convocation is looming (I only have 246$ left to pay to get my degree... howsaboutsthat)

as well next week I'm off to Saskatoon for more training.

Only ONE game left in the premiership season.
» I'm FINISHED
Well I finally did it ... I'm done university

I got my last mark yesterday all in all it was a good semester.

I will write a proper update later. I am now working some mornings at the radio stations it is an interesting change.

» Done School
Well... I finished school. Six years and 30 000 later I have finished my music composition degree. Needless to say this is a point in life where lately I have been feeling a little bit Overwhelmed with all the changed happening. the good news is that most of the changes are positive. I have been taking courses through work to prepare me for the new job (once I confirm it). But anyways ... I finish university and I go straight into more education.

It'll be an interesting summer ... that's for sure

I've started getting some marks back from school and things are looking pretty good so far.

I always hate this time of the year how it feels as though I should be doing something but I don't have to do anything.

I am looking forward to spending some more time with Daya especially if I do have to leave. Next weekend wea are going to the Damonen CD release party, and next month is the Mahler symphony (something i have been looking forward to all year). This weekend I got to hear her play at Kurt Gillett's recital I really enjoy hearing saxophone music.

On another note I need to get back to running but I have had a few more aches and pains then expected. I will try to get at it this week and hopefully use the ball I bought.
» 1 1/4 left
I have finished 2 3/4 of my finals... they are all take home finals.

I am so fucking finished it's not even funny

I am looking forward to spending some more time with Daya.

I applied for a job in Toronto... I don't know when I'll know whats going on.

Why is everything changing so fast? (I am not complaining)
» Toronto Bound
Ok... I'll make this quick because I am procrastinating homework.

I hit my 45 minute mark like 2 weeks ago... good for me, but i've taken a break from running so i can finish homework. (no good)

I have the Lyon vs Valencienne game taped since there are no Arsenal games on this weekend. I do very much enjoy watching Lyon play they have a very entertaining club (not to mention literally half the french national team playing for them)

Only 2 assignments left

And my title says toronto bound... well I am in the process of getting a job in toronto with Cibc Mortgages and Lending... things are looking good... if tomorrow at work doesn't suck I'll talk about this more.
» I havn't forgotten about you
To the journal and any readers... if you're out there

» Weekly Update
I haven't updated this in a little while.

I am a little disappointed this weekend I was supposed to meet up with Keble this weekend... it seems like busyness has gotten the best of both of us. I spoke with him today and what I am going to do is write my lyrics for the songs and then meet up with him so we can speed up the process. He says we'll have to do this on a Saturday... the challenge will be finding a Saturday when I'll have the time (Maybe I'll look into this Saturday)

Homework-wise I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday... but things seem to be ok. I finished reading 5 chapters of my textbook which finishes the textbook for the semester. Now I only have maybe 10-15 more articles left to summarize. I also need to focus on my research assignment. I also need to focus more on all my classes.

Arsenal won this weekend... about freaking time after losing in the FA cup and losing in the Carling cup final. It was a little disappointing that this week was the first without an arsenal game on tv.

I am in the market to get some new running shoes... I am not sure how to go about doing this because let's face it running shoes aren't exactly the nicest looking shoes.

I got to hang out with Daya this weekend. Friday night was cut a bit short, but last night we went and had some drinks and saw casino royale, which i thouroughly enjoyed. I met up with her on saturday evening too and we just hung out at her house and did homework.

Time to finish watching Heroes... damn this show is like crack.

I just want to finish this CD too ...
» Valentines Day Post-Game
Ok...

well I am procrastinating from doing homework... but the important thing is that I am doing it. I have written 98 words... only 902 to go.

As per the request I will write about valentines day... this year it was a lot of fun. I got off work early so I got to take Daya out for supper. We went to the Willow on Wascana. It was a terrific meal, they had 7 courses of food with a different wine to go with each of the courses. I always enjoy going out for "fine dining" we really need more restaurants like that in the city. Daya got me a couple of thoughtful gifts , she bought me the DVD for Bon Cop, Bad Cop (if you havn't seen it, I would highly recommend it). She also had me a mug made up that had the arsenal logo on it, I had asked her a few weeks previous to find me a mug since I have started drinking alot more water and tea at work. It was nice to have a couple of nights that week to just hang out with Daya... school has been pretty stressful I think we are both looking forward to school being finished. I am also looking forward to the time zone change so I can start and finish work a little bit early.

I spent the week off school doing homework... I didn't really get much time to do any real relaxing, but I did get to spend some time with friends. I found out people at school can be bastards after having quite a few art supplies stolen from my locker at school. (Namely the Stonehenge paper, and my spray fixative)... I finished 2 of my 3 1000 word papers, I started working on the piano part for gib's piece... (I will be finishing it tonight or tomorrow).

The last thing I would like to write about is just an update on my running. First off I have no increased to 30 minutes a day... i still try to run 6 days a week, but it has been more like 5 days. NOw that school is starting up again it should be much much easier to be more consistant. To hit my goal by the end of april I will now have to add an extra 3 minutes per week...

Feb 25 - Mar 3 30 min
Mar 4 - Mar 10 33 min
Mar 11 - Mar 17 36 min
Mar 18 - Mar 24 39 min
Mar 25 - Mar 31 42 min
Apr 1 - Apr 7 45 min

I have also made a couple of purchases to help me out. I bought a Nike Soccer Ball as well as a pair of Nike shorts to do some running

Ok I am in canadian music history...

It feels kind of like seinfeld... time passes by but this class feels like it is about nothing. We're supposed to have a test on thursday... I have no idea how it'll go So i better start reading the book. Tonight should be pretty busy... I have to finish recording my bass tracks I have one song left to do. Then vocals and viomalin. Anyways thank god reading week is coming up this semester is going by fast... I already can't wait for it to be done

Things to do for tonight:
1. Run
2. Finish Bass Tracks
3. Read Music History book
4. Work on outline for Mu 320AJ
5. Work on outline for Soc 211

numbers 3,4 and 5 don't need to be finished tonight

On another note the arsenal game this weekend was dissapointing... there is no way they should have drawn that game.
